Archbishop Oscar Lipscomb, the first archbishop of Mobile, Ala., addresses the 23 graduates of Notre Dame Seminary at the 58th Commencement Exercises on May 10. Archbishop Alfred Hughes used the occasion to thank Fr. Pat Williams for his many years of service to the Seminary, particularly in the position of President-Rector, as well as other faculty members who are departing as the academic year draws to a close. Archbishop Hughes expressed special thanks for Fr. Williams's leadership during Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath in which Notre Dame Seminary was the only institute of higher education in New Orleans to salvage its fall semester and the first to return to the city. >>Read more...
