Archbishop Alfred Hughes has appointed Rev. Jose Lavastida rector of Notre Dame Seminary. Fr. Lavastida had previously served as the Seminary's academic dean, a position now filled by Dr. David Liberto. Fr. Lavastida was the unanimous recommendation of the Search Committee of the Board, and the Executive Committee ratified this recommendation at a meeting on June 26. In making the announcement, Archbishop Hughes not only welcomed the new rector warmly, but expressed great appreciation to Fr.
