NDS Honors St. Joseph
Fava beans
are an essential part of Notre Dame Seminary's St. Joseph's Day
Altar on the Saint's feast Monday, March 19, 2007. Tradition has
it that through the intercession of St. Joseph, Sicilians found
that the beans grew well in dry conditions, saving them from the
difficult conditions of a drought. Under the leadership of
Student Association President Paul Yi and Pre-Theology
Seminarian Darin Branson, members of the seminary community
donated a wide variety of cakes, cookies, and other food, which
fed visitors to the altar as well as the poor.
