Sunlight pours into the seminary attic through holes ripped open in the slate roof. After tearing off the slate tiles and hurling them through windows nearly a block away in the Archdiocese chancery building, the wind also uprooted several heavy blocks that sat underneath the slate. The holes allowed rainwater to drench the ceiling above several third-floor residence rooms. Other rooms suffered damage from broken windows or rainwater that was simply blown through the seams in the windows.
