Archbishop Philip Hannan, the retired Archbishop of New Orleans, joined the Notre Dame Seminary community for evening prayer and a Community Night dinner Sept. 19. Hannan, who celebrated 50 years as a bishop last year, discussed his participation in the Second Vatican Council as well as his days with John Paul II during the Holy Father's apostolic visit to New Orleans in 1987. The seminarians presented Hannan with a spiritual bouquet to thank him for his leadership and presence.
