Archbishop Alfred Hughes has appointed Rev. Jose Lavastida rector of Notre Dame Seminary. Fr. Lavastida had previously served as the Seminary's academic dean, a position now filled by Dr. David Liberto. Fr. Lavastida was the unanimous recommendation of the Search Committee of the Board, and the Executive Committee ratified this recommendation at a meeting on June 26. In making the announcement, Archbishop Hughes not only welcomed the new rector warmly, but expressed great appreciation to Fr. Pat Williams for his service as rector of Notre Dame Seminary for the past seven years.
